This usually happens for two reasons. First, if the battery is exposed to extreme temperatures, Ring’s built-in safety features may temporarily stop it from charging to prevent damage. How do I know if my Ring battery needs replacement?
Normally, there are a few signs that tell you it’s time for a replacement:
- The battery drains completely in just a few days, even after turning off motion alerts.
- It refuses to charge past a certain percentage, like 50% or 80%, even after being plugged in for hours.
- The battery looks swollen or deformed, if it’s a removable model.
Note: If your device has a built-in (non-removable) battery and it no longer holds a charge, the entire unit may need to be replaced or connected to an outdoor power adapter.
